Discover where it all began – experience the heart of the Easter Show with real farm animals at Farm World
Beginning as an agricultural event in 1843, the Easter Show was established to support the development of Auckland’s farming community. Today, Farmworld proudly honours that legacy by bringing the country to the city, offering families the opportunity to meet a wide variety of farm animals and experience New Zealand’s agricultural heritage firsthand.

The animal encounters continue beyond Farmworld, with plenty more to discover throughout the Showgrounds. On the Village Green, the full sheepdog trial competition returns, with skilled shepherds and their working dogs competing for the prestigious Mick Draper Cup—one of New Zealand’s most highly regarded sheepdog trialling trophies and an important part of the Easter Show’s agricultural tradition.
Visitors can also meet the friendly animals at Old MacDonald’s Farmyard and keep an eye out for roaming goats and other surprises along the way.
